LEEF role

LEEF primarily focuses on the economic and technical aspects of the project.

The project complements long-term decarbonization strategies with comprehensive short- and medium-term implementation scenarios. Concepts, approaches, and tools for modeling and assessing energy sector pathways towards decarbonization will be developed. The project’s aims will be addressed by modeling and evaluating the economic and social impacts on society and the economy as a whole, as well as on industry sectors and household segments, and identifying barriers to the scenarios and possibilities for their elimination.

⚪︎ The project focuses on using economics and sociology to formulate effective solutions for decarbonizing the energy sector in the Czech Republic.
⚪︎ It assesses the potential negative impacts of poorly chosen pathways to decarbonization on society and vulnerable segments.
⚪︎ The modeling of decarbonization scenarios will focus on economic and social impacts and the influence on energy infrastructure.
⚪︎ It connects macroeconomic and microeconomic models for a comprehensive evaluation of policies and measures to support decarbonization and mitigate negative effects.
⚪︎ The research consortium includes experts from various fields, including the legislative aspects of the decarbonization process.
